Money math for real paychecks

Leftover Planner is a free, independent website that helps you see what's left after bills, and what to do with it. No account, no paywall, and the numbers you type stay on your device.

Why it exists

Most budgeting apps want a subscription, your bank login or your email. People living paycheck to paycheck usually need the opposite: a quick, honest answer they can trust, in plain language, on a phone. That's what this site tries to be.

What you can do here

How we keep it accurate

Every calculator uses published 2026 figures from the IRS, state tax agencies, USDA, HHS, the CFPB and other public sources. Each tool lists its sources at the bottom of the page, and our methodology page explains the math step by step. Results are checked by hand against worked examples, and every change is tested before it goes live. We review the numbers whenever new figures are published, and at least every fall and January.

What we're not

Leftover Planner is not a bank, lender, financial advisor, tax preparer or law firm, and it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the IRS or any government agency. Results are estimates to help you plan. For big decisions, talk to a qualified professional. Free help is available:

How the site is paid for

Leftover Planner is free because it may show ads and recommend partner products, which are labeled “Sponsored.” If you sign up for a partner's product, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Partners never see the numbers you enter, and they can't pay to change your results, your plan or the math.

Your privacy

There are no accounts. Your plan is saved only in your own browser, and we never receive it. Read the privacy policy.
